As consumers shift from Google to AI assistants for product recommendations, stores that aren't machine-readable become invisible. Shopify's default structured data exposes only a handful of schema.org properties; Google and AI answer engines look for far more. SurfaceKit closes that gap automatically.

What it does: enriched JSON-LD structured data injected via Theme App Extension (additive, theme-safe); on-page enrichment blocks that give visible page-content backing for structured-data claims (a Google compliance requirement); AI-generated product FAQs, descriptions, and metadata written to metafields via an enrichment pipeline (webhook → LLM enrichment → metafield write); llms.txt generation for the storefront.

Why it matters: this is category-defining work in Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) — the discipline of making commerce content legible to ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Google AI Mode.
